摘要: Kinesins are motor-based transport proteins that play diverse roles in various cellular processes. The trypanosome genome lacks the homologues of many conserved mitotic kinesins, but encodes a number trypanosome-specific kinesins with unknown function. Here, we report biochemical and functional characterization TbKIN-C, kinesin, which was initially identified through an RNAi screen for cytokinesis genes T. brucei. TbKIN-C possesses vitro ATPase activity associates cytoskeletal tubulin microtubules vivo. It is distributed throughout cytoskeleton focal enrichment at posterior end cell during early cycle stages. resulted distorted shape elongated filled tyrosinated microtubules. Silencing impaired segregation organelles structures led to detachment new flagellum small portion cytoplasm. We also show compromised abolished trans-localization TbCPC1, subunit chromosomal passenger complex, from central spindle initiation site cytokinesis. Our results suggest essential role maintaining morphology, likely regulating microtubule dynamics cell.
