摘要: Abstract This work presents a new methodology for evaluating crack initiation under biaxial conditions. The consists of number parameters automatically with digital processing high-magnification images the crack. Five different strain conditions were evaluated on low carbon ferritic–pearlitic steel specimen tubular shape. A hole 150 μm diameter was drilled to enforce initiate at particular spot. Different combinations axial and torsional strains analysed during stage Fatigue propagation curves clearly showed oscillations due microstructure. It also observed that these decreased as component increased.
