摘要: Observations of energetic heavy ions are reported on seven occasions during three magnetic storms in 1969. The data were acquired from an ion mass spectrometer experiment satellite 1969-25B. Measurements made at 1, 3, and 9 keV. Data orbit March 24, 1969, examined some detail. observed fluxes shown to exhibit a morphology similar that by Shelley et al. [1972] for O+ the storm December 17, 1971, their identification as is this basis. latitude distribution these compared simultaneous ground-based measurements other phenomena. In case examined, most intense found be located equatorward high-latitude boundary locally mirroring electrons poleward stable auroral red (SAR) arc. They steep density gradient ambient cold plasma altitude 480 km. A comparison location six with SAR arc observations same indicates low-latitude limit average about 1 L unit
