Prediction of average droplet size in flowing immiscible polymer blends

摘要: The paper is focused on calculation of the average droplet size in immiscible blends during their steady flow. Available theoretical and experimental results studies breakup coalescence are utilized to derive equations describing dynamic equilibrium between coalescence. New expression for efficiency, reliably reflecting recent results, proposed. equation size, controlled by stepwise mechanism droplets with not very different sizes, derived containing up 10–20 vol % droplets. For above approximate 20 droplets, Tomotika highly polydisperse system modeled. Results compared data; qualitative agreement found dependence amount dispersed phase. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J.
