摘要: The present study provides histochemical evidence supporting the operation of ‘glucose—fatty acid cycle‘ in skeletal muscles taken 5 days after administration a single injection streptozotocin. It also indicates that cycle is more important fast-oxidative-glycolytic (FOG) and slow-oxidative (SO) fibres than fast-glycolytic (FG) fibres. Data from 14 28 treatment suggest lipid catabolism becomes progressively less with time, longer-term diabetic rats rely on aerobic anaerobic breakdown glucose by FOG FG to meet their cellular energy requirements. Although SO appeared initially be least affected steptozotocin-induced diabetes, decline metabolic capabilities ultimately seemed greater Transformations biochemical characteristics occurred 14–28 streptozotocin treatment, absence changes actomyosin-ATPase activity. This supports view division muscle into three or four distinct types basis myosin- activity an oversimplification true situation.
