摘要: OBJECTIVES Echocardiography is used routinely to assess mitral regurgitation severity, but echocardiographic measures of in dogs have not been compared with other quantitative methods. The study aim was compare cardiac magnetic resonance imaging-derived regurgitant fraction small-breed dogs. METHODS Dogs myxomatous valve disease scheduled for imaging assessment neurological were recruited. Correlations tested between and the following measures: vena contracta/aortic diameter, transmitral E-wave velocity, amplitude prolapse/aortic diastolic left ventricular diameter:aortic atrium:aortic jet area ratio calculated using proximal isovelocity surface method. RESULTS Measurement attempted 21 dogs. Twelve consecutive, complete studies obtained 10 included final analysis: diameter (r = 0 · 89, p = 0 · 001) velocity (r = 0 · 86, had strongest correlations fraction. E superior repeatability could be measured all The presence multiple jets precluded measurement one dog. CLINICAL SIGNIFICANCE Measurement feasible technically demanding. that correlated most closely velocity.
