International Endodontic Journal, 44, 505–509, 2011. Abstract Aim To compare efficacy (Ca(OH)2) canals. Methodology The canals 24 freshly extracted human mandibular premolars were prepared with ProTaper rotary instruments. teeth sectioned longitudinally along length instrumented roots subsequently reassembled wires. After Ca(OH)2 was placed into canals, four used its removal. In Group I, irrigated 5 mL 2.5% NaOCl. II treated in same manner as but 17% EDTA addition to III, NaOCl and agitated by an ultrasonic unit. IV, a CanalBrush remove Ca(OH)2. disassembled digital photographs taken. Measurements residual performed percentages overall canal surface area. data analysed one-way ANOVA post hoc Tukey test. Results Significantly less material obtained passive agitation than other groups (P 0.05). Conclusions None removed dressing completely. significantly more effective irrigant-only techniques.
