摘要: Development of techniques to maintain viable rotifer clones in a frozen state would preserve the genotype and reduce routine maintenance for those not being actively studied. To this end we have Brachionus plicatilis dimethyl sulfoxide at concentrations ranging from 6% 18%. Survival rates decreased as endpoint temperature was reduced −20 °C −45 °C, but did decrease when further −196 (liquid nitrogen). Only 2% individuals survived freezing liquid nitrogen.
