摘要: Abstract Objective To apply cognitive task analyses of the Biomedical query mediation (BQM) processes for EHR data retrieval at multiple sites towards development a generic BQM process model. Materials and methods We conducted semi-structured interviews with eleven analysts from five academic institutions one government agency, performed on their processes. A coding schema was developed through iterative refinement used to annotate interview transcripts. The annotated dataset reconstruct verify each develop harmonized survey evaluate face content validity this Results model is hierarchical, encompassing tasks, activities, steps. evaluation concluded be representative process. In evaluation, out 27 tasks BQM, 19 meet threshold semi-valid, including 3 fully valid: "Identify potential index phenotype," "If needed, request database access rights," "Perform present output medical researcher", 8 are invalid. Discussion aligned goals within components reference interview. similarity between promising suggests powerful eliciting implicit information needs. Conclusions contribute based multi-site study. This promises inform standardization improved communication efficiency accuracy.
