An improved fruit fly optimization algorithm based on selecting evolutionary direction intelligently

摘要: AbstractAs a novel global optimization algorithm, the fruit fly algorithm FOA has been successfully applied in variety of mathematic and engineering fields. For purpose accelerating convergence speed overcoming shortcomings FOA, an improved called SEDI-FOA was proposed this paper. In SEDI-FOA, more flies would search direction that best for finding optimal solution, or at least close to direction. Experiments were conducted on set 12 benchmark functions, results showed performed better than other several frequently-used intelligence algorithms, especially areas ability efficiency.
