摘要: Abstract Using a Shil'nikov-type model, some global bifurcations present in the averaged equations for harmonic vibration of damped pretcnsioned linearly elastic string are examined. In particular, we interested examining those which allow to change its direction whirling. These shown be directly related structural instability homoclinic connection. From symmetry and stasbility considerations, able show that this produces gluing explosions provides an explanation chaotic motions observed system. The consequences our analysis physical systems exhibit similar modal coupling is discussed.
