摘要: Isolated metastable multiply charged molecular ions constitute a new class of entity which dissociate much less rapidly than would be expected from conventional perturbative single-particle theories atomic and collisions. Studies such entities have witnessed spectacular growth in the course last five years. This report attempts to present an overview developments this subject area by presenting recipes contemporary experimental theoretical techniques applied study species, along with illustrative examples type information obtainable. There is strong interplay between studies. Experimental effort generally directed towards obtaining on energetics involved formation fragmentation molecules their interaction other, neutral atoms molecules. Theoretical studies primarily address question metastability focus attention calculations ionic potential-energy surfaces.
