摘要: Background: Insulin resistance (IR) is a metabolic disorder related to atherosclerosis. Its measurement of great importance not only as marker diabetes but also for cardiovascular disease. The aim this research study was evaluate the relationship between various IR indices and coronary risk in an adult population from Maracaibo city, Venezuela. Methods: City Metabolic Syndrome Prevalence Study descriptive, cross-sectional with random multi-stage sampling. In sub study, 1272 individuals both genders were selected basal insulin according Framingham-Wilson formula calibrated our population. evaluated HOMA2-IR, triglycerides glucose index (TyG) triglycerides/HDL ratio (TG/HDL). predictive capacity association each event 10 years determined. Results: Of population, 55.2% female, 34.8% had ≥5% years, TG/HDL TyG showing highest AUC 0.712 (0.681-0.743) 0.707 (0.675-0.739), respectively; compared HOMA2-IR. Both most associated increased risk, especially ≥3 higher [OR = 2.83 (1.74-4.61); p<0.01] after multivariable adjustment. Conclusions: (≥4.5) (≥3) showed being more even adjusting abdominal obesity hs-CRP. Therefore, these represent useful tools determining IR.
