摘要: Plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO) is a surface treatment technology enabling fabrication of adherent thick (50–150 µm) coatings on light metal alloys with significantly enhanced hardness, wear and corrosion resistance compared other conventional treatments. The has the potential to play significant role in transport sector for replacement steel light-weight materials improved durability. A main limitation PEO lies its relatively high cost, associated energy consumption low coating efficiency. present work explores possible routes improve process It shown that combination pre-anodising sequential reduces specific up five times because an increase growth rate, 10 µm/min, existing processes. further approach efficiency involves electrolytes suspended fine or nanoparticles, which results formation thicker reduced time as result incorporation particles from electrolyte into coating. Additionally, melting material during micro-arc discharge leads stabilised high-temperature phases, such tetragonal cubic zirconia, provide microhardness give thermal barrier applications.
