Ti-doped alkali metal aluminium hydrides as potential novel reversible hydrogen storage materials

摘要: Abstract New reversible hydrogen storage systems are proposed, based on catalyzed reactions (Eqs. 4–6). The catalytic acceleration of the in both directions is achieved by doping alkali metal aluminium hydrides with a few mol% selected Ti compounds. PCI diagrams show an absence hysteresis and nearly horizontal pressure plateaus. NaAlH4 system reveals two temperature-dependent plateaus, corresponding to two-step dissociation NaAlH4. Na3AlH6 shows only one plateau; latter can be lowered partial substitution Na Li. In cyclic tests, H2 capacities 4.2–3.1 2.7–2.1 wt% H have been achieved.
