摘要: Oxidative stress plays a critical role in the pathogenesis of retinal degeneration. Gypenosides are major functional components isolated from Gynostemma pentaphyllum. They have been shown to protect against oxidative and inflammation also demonstrated protective effect on experimental optic neuritis. In order determine properties gypenosides human pigment epithelium (RPE) cells, ARPE-19 cells were treated with H2O2 or plus for 24 h. co-treated had significantly increased cell viability decreased death rate when compared cells alone. The level GSH, activities SOD catalase, expression NRF2 antioxidant genes notably decreased, while there marked increases ROS, MDA pro-inflammatory cytokines exposed H2O2; co-treatment counteract these changes. Our study suggests that RPE damage offer therapeutic potential treatment
