摘要: Many countries in Central and South America as well Brazil have been characterized by a rise dengue endemicity. Since 1986, infection has gained endemicity these more than 3 million cases reported along with the emergence also of severe forms disease. Once intratypic variations among virus (DEN) serotypes associated disease severity, molecular characterization DEN becomes an indispensable tool for laboratories performing virological surveillance programmes. In endemic DEN, Brazil, monitoring activity should be ongoing programme to detect eventual introduction new serotypes/genotypes curb impact circulating strains. Here, epidemiological studies performed on Brazilian strains are presented order contribute better understanding epidemiology country.
