摘要: Vertebral artery injuries due to cervical spine trauma, although rarely described in the literature, are relatively common. While most of them will remain asymptomatic, a small percentage patients may suffer life threatening complications. We report case right vertebral injury patient with fracture C4 vertebra, successfully treated endovascular approach. A 78-year-old male was hospitalized for caused by falling off tractor. Radiological assessment revealed vertebra proximal two-thirds body dislocated five millimeters dorsally. Significant swelling soft prevertebral tissues distally C2 segment also present. During emergency surgery using standard anterior approach spine, excessive bleeding started from injured artery. Bleeding stopped tamponade oxidized regenerated cellulose sheet and C4-C5 fixation; then partial reduction displacement done. Fifteen days later, after angiography, repair performed percutaneous stent graft. Follow up computed tomography scan angiography showed valid patency without contrast extravasation.
