摘要: Since the short-term, acute scarring process induced by a biomaterial may condition evolution of repair process, present investigation evaluates behavior polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and polypropylene (PL) biomaterials in initial stages repair. Three PTFE (Mycro Mesh®, Dual Mesh® Soft Tissue Patch®) one PL (Marlex®) were employed to defects created abdominal wall New Zealand rabbits. Animals sacrificed at 3 or 7 days. Specimens obtained for light scanning electron microscopy, immunohistochemical analysis using RAM-11 monoclonal antibody rabbit macrophages. The implants showed substantial adhesion formation with viscera. Lower was detected implants. phase similar each biomaterial. At days post implant, an incipient neoperitoneum which fully established after implant similar, although greater amount reticular granulation detected. neoformed peritoneum irregular. Few RAM-11-labeled macrophages all cases. tissue generally proceeds along lines normal process. However, use microporous, laminar materials seems favor early establishment well-defined neoperitoneal layer.
