摘要: In the last two decades, several researchers have noted rodent population outbreaks in semiarid South America, association with unusually high precipitation that seemingly concurs El Nifio events. To date, no studies been conducted to determine statistical relationships between ENSO (El Southern Oscillation) events, increased precipitation, and irruptions. Here we show that: 1) there is a events region of northern Chile; 2) occurrence statistically related levels same year; 3) multi-annual patterns total annual abundance those rodents during summer are positively associated. The putative chain effects seems start rainfall brought by environments, which thus respond primary productivity
