Posttranscriptional regulation of p53 and its targets by RNA-binding proteins.

摘要: p53 tumor suppressor plays a pivotal role in maintaining genomic integrity and preventing cancer development. The importance of suppression is illustrated by the observation that about 50% human cells have dysfunctional pathway. Although it has been well accepted activity mainly controlled through post-translational modifications, recent studies revealed posttranscriptional regulations various RNA-binding proteins also play crucial modulating its downstream targets.
