摘要: Respiratory complications constitute a significant proportion of postoperative morbidity and mortality. This is particularly true in the setting thoracic upper abdominal surgery. The clinical functional preoperative evaluation aims at identifying risk factors for development these complications. available literature allows elaborating recommendations patients eligible to lung resection goal not only assess immediate surgical intervention but also its long-term consequences on respiratory system. For long time, measurements parameters are an essential step this evaluation. However, assessment exercise tolerance now critical workout with altered pulmonary function. other types surgery, as important former that can be modified perioperative period. Although testing certainly useful some conditions - before surgery identified chronic diseases -, currently insufficient precisely defining place. © 2005 Publie par Elsevier SAS.
