摘要: Tropical deforestation is generally characterized as conversion of forest land to alternative uses, notably agriculture. This would suggest the need for rational decision making concerning optimal allocation tropical between competing uses. The following paper explores this problem by devising rules determining use timber and agriculture at stand levels. A complementary intertemporal model agricultural level also developed used derive a demand relationship conversion, which then approximated through empirical estimation.
