摘要: The common fungal pathogen, Candida albicans, can grow either as single cells or filaments (hyphae), depending on environmental conditions. Several transcriptional regulators have been identified having key roles in controlling filamentous growth, including the products of TUP1, CPH1, and EFG1 genes. We show, through a set single, double, triple mutants, that these genes act an additive fashion to control suggesting each gene represents separate pathway control. also show environmentally induced growth occur even absence all three genes, providing evidence for fourth regulatory pathway. Expression collection structural associated with HYR1, ECE1, HWP1, ALS1, CHS2, was monitored strains lacking combination EFG1, CPH1. Different patterns expression were observed among target supporting hypothesis proteins engage network individual connections downstream arguing against model whereby are regulated central results suggest existence several distinct types forms C. dependent particular conditions expressing unique surface proteins.
