摘要: While trying to determine the rotation curve in 1953 Kwee, Muller, and Westerhout [1] found long faint wings line profiles within 20 25 degrees longitude from center. The gas responsible for these should therefore lie 3 kiloparsecs velocities of neutral hydrogen causing are far greater than could be expected on basis a reasonable rotational model Galaxy. Therefore, were tentatively interpreted as being caused by high turbulent gas. In view new better data obtained with 25-meter telescope Dwingeloo, this interpretation has now been dropped. conclusion is that all regions expanding at same time taking part galactic rotation. evidence will briefly presented.
