摘要: Various hydrogen-bonded (H-bonded) bent-core liquid crystal complexes consisting of pyridyl and benzoic acid derivatives were synthesized compared with their covalent analogues in this study. The molar ratios could be tuned to form various H-bonded (LC) diads (with 1 : 1 ratio H-acceptors T H-donors D) different D). By insertion H-bonds into positions supramolecules, the mesophasic properties LC optimized, which facilitate most suitable components compositions utilized blue phase (BP) complexes. In BPLC complexes, ratios, alkyl chain lengths, lateral fluoro-substitution chiral center supramolecules would affect temperature ranges BPs. Accordingly, complex PIIIC9/AIIF* (3/7 mol mol−1) displayed widest BPI range ΔTBPI = 12.0 °C at correspondent H-acceptor PIIIC9 H-donor D AIIF*. Since covalent-bonded mixture only had narrow BPIII, we summarize that introduction effectively stabilizes BPs easier induces BPI.
