摘要: Abstract Infrared spectroscopy of the alcohol cations ethanol, propanol, and butanol was performed to investigate their structures hyperconjugation mechanisms. In ethanol cation, C bond hyperconjugates with singly occupied molecular orbital (SOMO) at oxygen atom, so that weakens length elongates. Multiple hyperconjugations among SOMO, bond, end H occur in propanol cation enhance acidity through delocalization its bonding σ electron. The forms oxonium-type structure proton transfer from terminal CH bond.
