摘要: The main objective of this study was to determine the reliability using microfiltration system which is composed a coagulant such as ferric chloride (pretreatment substance) and hollow fibre membrane filtering medium for improving water quality. In study, raw samples were collected from lake located at Faculty Engineering, Universiti Putra Malaysia. experiments carried out in three stages: first stage used distilled water, second stored tank third mixed with coagulant. A storage separation used; store pumped (used stage) while stage, pretreatment or coagulation optimum dosage (determined jar test). experimental results show that flux obtained stages low. For best found be 4.97 l/m2/h. shows shaft rotational speed peristaltic pump one factors affecting flux. Therefore, 7 rpm chosen based on suction pressure. ability together produce treated 97% turbidity removal 85% total suspended solids (TSS). it removals TSS ranged 71.7 91.6% when alum 74.4 89.20% dosages 4 20 mg/l, respectively. Although percentage slightly higher compared chloride, recommended use due its economical health advantages. Furthermore, can wide range pH values only effective value around 7.
