摘要: Passerine bird communities of Iberian dehesas: a review. The dehesas are manmade habitat composed scattered oaks (Quercus spp.) and extensive grass cover occupying three million ha in south western Iberia. This paper compares the structure passerine this region with other bird assemblages woodlands. Although forest numbers southern half Iberian peninsula decreasing, show highest richness breeding birds, seemingly as result of the increased presence border openhabitat birds. A low intrahabitat turnover species was observed in dehesas, birds recorded at sampling point accounting for high percentage total richness of community. can be related to spatial patchiness habitat. In winter, dehesas continued maintain many species, but showed densities similar other pattern, as well scarcity some common passerines during period, could from the removal shrub layer typical Mediterranean
