摘要: The publication of the government white paper ‘Working for Patients’ (1989, HMSO) and implementation subsequent NHS reforms has led to development a great number initiatives designed improve quality patient care make provision more clinically cost effective. Many these initiatives, whilst laudable, have been developed in isolation often without proper consideration how they relate one another or might practically be implemented throughout NHS. It commonly case that attempts transfer initiative from an environment high enthusiasm and, often, resource general either failed poor application. Strategies clinical effectiveness not become feature everyday practice many, let alone most all, clinicians result their failure significantly raise standards across as whole. It is suggested many are closely related, effective whole may follow integrate them practical approach management within organization-wide strategy. further this best achieved by continuous improvement focusing on process centrepiece initiative, method will lead significant improvements only but also effectiveness.
