摘要: We use electrochemical impedance spectroscopy to measure the effect of diluting a hydrophobic room temperature ionic liquid with miscible organic solvents on differential capacitance glassy carbon–electrolyte interface. show that minimum increases dilution and reaches maximum value at contents near 5–10 mol% (i.e., ∼1 M). provide evidence mixtures 1,2-dichloroethane, low-dielectric constant solvent, yield largest gains in open circuit potential when compared against two traditional solvents, acetonitrile propylene carbonate. To fundamental basis for these observations, we coarse-grained model relate structural variations double layer occurrence maximum. Our results reveal enhancement double-layer through dilution.
