Influence of Gd 2 O 3 on thermal and spectroscopic properties of aluminosilicate glasses

摘要: Abstract A series of aluminosilicate glasses 25SiO2·(20-x)Al2O3·40Na2O·15BaO-xGd2O3 with 0 ≤ x ≤ 10 were prepared in order to analyze the influence gadolinium on thermal and spectroscopic properties these materials. Increasing parameters (Tg, Tx, Δcp, ΔT) values higher Gd2O3 content was determined using DSC method. Crystalline phases, formed during heat treatment, identified XRD - NaAlSiO4 BaSiO3 glass 0% mol. Gd9.33(SiO4)6O2, BaAl2Si2O6 10% Gd2O3. Spectroscopic analysis – FTIR Raman revealed structure same way like Al2O3, but some differences appear due differ bond strength ionic radius between Gd Al. spectra confirmed network polymerization (enriched Q2 units). Optical band gap energy (Eopt) Urbach (ΔE) calculated from Tauc plot. Mechanical tests demonstrated lower microhardness increasing content, as a result concentration atoms larger radius.
