摘要: Abstract Objective Measurement of thermal pain thresholds is an essential part quantitative sensory testing (QST). However, databases QST show limitations due to large inter-individual variations including unreasonably low for pain, lack data on intra-individual over time and the subjects’ perception at threshold. This study sought reduce variations, investigated reproducibility measurements included evaluation thermally induced perceptions. Methods Thermal were in 20 healthy subjects three weeks using two protocols, one which differed making familiar with likely range applied temperatures beforehand. Both protocols subjective ratings temperature thresholds. Results Data obtain both showed but small as well good feasibility Conclusions Previous experience test stimuli has no influence variability measurement time. Evaluation provided further reproducible data. Significance Further approaches are needed thresholds; however, perceptions warrants consideration their use larger longitudinal studies.
