Acute eosinophilic pneumonia due to toxocariasis with bronchoalveolar lavage findings.

摘要: A previously healthy young man presented with breathlessness, diffuse pulmonary infiltrates on the chest x-ray film, and a high degree of peripheral blood eosinophilia. Analysis bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) fluid showed 64 percent eosinophils. diagnosis toxocariasis was eventually reached basis positive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) forToxocara canis. The routine performance ELISA test in diagnostic approach to infiltration eosinophilia could reveal an undetermined, sometimes unsuspected, number cases adult involvement. differential cell count BAL may prove be useful clue favor such diagnosis.
