摘要: BACKGROUND: Much attention has been given to applying ionic liquids (ILs) as an alternative pretreatment method for lignocellulosic biomass. This study aims select the most suitable type of IL pretreating sugarcane bagasse (SCB). The potential ILs was evaluated and compared with conventional media, acids alkalis. performance media based on amount reducing sugar produced from enzymatic saccharification, energy requirement, changes in chemical structure crystallinity index pretreated bagasse. RESULTS: 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium acetate [EMIM]oAc selected SCB pretreatment. optimum yields obtained [EMIM]oAc-, alkali-, acid-pretreated were 69.5%, 92.8% 41.3%, respectively. Although a lower yield obtained, required least pretreat 1 kg SCB. Moreover, percentage loss during lowest. [EMIM]oAc-pretreated also had lowest (CI) amorphous structure. CONCLUSION: appears be another option SCB, other issues such recyclability is worth investigating. Copyright © 2011 Society Chemical Industry
