摘要: In polymer characterisation, bothflow birefringence and the Kerr effect may be used to determine conformational flexibility of a chain. The parameter generally is number monomer units in statistical segment (S) for Gaussian chain or persistence length (SJ2)for worm-like model. Also, evaluation segmental optical polarisability anisotropy dipole moment discussed, illustrating how group configurations within unit obtained. Much work described concerns general polymers dilute solution. Extension methods techniques ultra high molecular weight materials low liquid-state introduced.
