摘要: Calcium and/or vitamin D deficiency can occur after Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGBP) because of impaired absorption, resulting in secondary hyperparathyroidism and increased risk reduced bone mineral density (BMD). The objective this study is to assess nutritional status, body composition, health women RYGBP. Twenty-five premenopausal who had undergone RYGBP (test group) 33 matched for age mass index not surgery (control participated. Test group received 250 mg calcium day. Anthropometric, dietary, laboratory, BMD (X-ray absorptiometry) analyses were performed. No differences found between the groups waist circumference, fat or lean mass, BMD, dietary intake, although intake was low both groups. test better results complete blood count, total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein, triglycerides. mean parathyroid hormone higher (p = 0.005) group, still within normal limits. Plasma levels 25-hydroxyvitamin but did differ them (p = 0.075). Vitamin concentrations lower with longer time since surgery. energy, protein, lipids, polyunsaturated fatty acids, fiber, phosphorus, iron than control group. Elevation hormone, plasma insufficiency without reduction occurred Patients underwent adequate lipid profiles inadequate iron. may late postoperative period.
