摘要: Quantitative modelling using correlational data supports the testing of complex educational theories, but causal theoretical claims can be made on basis cor-relational relations only under quite specific circumstances. This chapter examines role experimental methodologies in education, and how such might complement both quantitative qualitative alternatives. Beginning with a review threats to validity results different designs, it dis-cusses that experiments may play understanding relations. The potential range methodology addressing design policy questions is considered, along alternatives as quasi-experiments propensity score matching. In common studies, generalis-ability across studies concern for theorists makers, leading consideration meta-analysis. concludes contemporary areas practice which benefit from investigation.
