摘要: This study examined the effect of reducing number accepted responses in transiently evoked otoacoustic emissions based on results a universal neonatal hearing screening program. Our intention was to decrease test time newborns. A total 464 ears were by using newborn hearing-screening program implemented private maternity hospital. ILO88 Otodynamics Analyzer Quickscreen used for all testing and two-stage procedure adopted. In first stage, continuously evaluated ‘pass’ criteria, during test, after at least 20 low-noise sweeps had been presented. As soon as criteria met, interrupted recorded. second stage procedure, continued finally terminated 260 quiet samples The each this compared evaluated. 402 normal only 62 absent emissions. It concluded that minimum averaged responses, which we consider necessary order record reliable fulfilled could be without affecting ‘pass–fail’ rates similar both stages. However, believe diagnostic clinical purposes, must used, because indicated statistically better scores response reproducibility measures.
