Oxidation of natural rubber-based magnetorheological elastomers

摘要: The rheological properties of magnetorheological (MR) materials can be changed continuously, rapidly and reversibly by an applied magnetic field. Solid MR consist magnetically polarisable particles, generally iron, in elastomer matrix. high iron concentrations required (about 30% volume) order to get a substantial effect should influence the long-term stability materials. In this paper, oxidative natural rubber-based elastomers has been studied chemiluminescence oven ageing. results show that rubber decreases dramatically when large amounts particles are incorporated This is probably due oxygen on surface particles. Conventional antioxidants used prolong lifetime elastomers, but acceptable careful selection antioxidant system made.
