摘要: The total surface energy (or enthalpy) of a calcium silicate hydrate, tobermorite, having the composition Ca3Si2O7•2H2O, was determined at 23.5 °C. tobermorite obtained from room-temperature hydration tricalcium silicate, Ca3SiO5, or β-dicalcium β-Ca2SiO4, two most important constituents portland cements. reactions were carried out in three different ways, and 14 preparations obtained. For each preparation heats solution mixture nitric acid hydrofluoric measured °C, areas by B.E.T. method, using water vapor 25 °C as adsorbate. cross-sectional area adsorbed molecule taken to be 11.4 A2. found 386 ± 20 ergs/cm2.
