Why Swedish people play online poker and factors that can increase or decrease trust in poker Web sites: A qualitative investigation

摘要: Three face-to-face focus groups that included 24 online poker players were conducted in Stockholm to investigate their motivations for playing and issues relating trust of Web sites. Casual played because they liked the convenience, ease learning, low stake size, relief from boredom, social interactions. “Professional” win money utilised several features game psychological tactics. They also tended play tables at once. Factors affected how much a player would an site size reputation operator, speed with which winnings paid out, clarity design, technical reliability service, accessibility effectiveness customer service. Responsible gaming measures increased levels by demonstrating company integrity reducing anxiety about winning other players. The findings indicate providing safe environment effective responsible may be more than just moral regulatory requirement. Players this study suggested such are sometimes necessary order achieve enjoyable experience. Consequently, initiatives good business practice do not have mutually exclusive.
