摘要: Bartonellosis, a biphasic disease caused by motile intracellular bacteria, produces in its tissue phase characteristic dermal eruption (Verruga peruana) resulting from pronounced endothelial cell proliferation. Bacteria are found the interstitium and within cytoplasm of cells (Rocha-Lima inclusion). The aim this study was to determine if Bartonella bacilliformis produce substance(s) that might be responsible for vascular proliferation seen Verruga. This assessed an vitro system using human measuring as well production type plasminogen activator after exposure cultures B. extracts. Our results indicate possess activity stimulates up three times control. factor(s) is specific cells, heat sensitive, larger than 12 14 kd, not enhanced heparin, has no affinity precipitated 45% ammonium sulfate. In addition, extracts stimulate t-PA antigen concentration-dependent fashion. also sensitive lost dialysis (12 kd). extracts, however, do increase inhibitor. It determined formation new blood vessels vivo model angiogenesis. These describe bacterial two important steps development vitro, vivo. Determining mechanism action, combined with complete characterization factor(s), may help understanding pathogenesis only Verruga angiogenesis general but recently described Cat-Scratch-associated epithelioid hemangiomas patients AIDS Kaposi sarcoma.
