Contraceptive Discontinuation among Honduran Women Who Use Reversible Methods

摘要: A panel study examining the effects of women's individual characteristics, side experienced, and service quality on their contraceptive discontinuation was undertaken in four urban areas Honduras. Data were collected from October 2006 to December 2007. The baseline sample consisted 800 women aged 15-44 who new or continuing users an injectable contraceptive, IUD, oral contraceptive. total 671 (84 percent) reinterviewed after one year. Life tables Cox proportional hazards models used present rates factors associated with discontinuation. Among users, method at 12 months high (45 percent), especially for (50 percent). In model, had little effect discontinuation, whereas characteristics experience specific showed significant effects. results suggest that programs should emphasize continuous coverage rather than use a particular method.
