摘要: Abstract . Anemia treatment with epoetin has led to dramatic increases in hematocrit levels since 1989. Studies have demonstrated that morbidity and mortality rates are lower when values within the Disease Outcomes Quality Initiative (DOQI) target range (33 36%). Recently, clinical studies patients without cardiovascular disease exhibited improved cognitive function of >36%. One prospective trial, contrast, normal among cardiac were associated higher rates. These conflicting results concerns regarding risks benefits between 36 42%. To address these concerns, a recent cohort 1996 1998 incident hemodialysis was studied, assessments death hospitalization medical costs Patients survived at least 9 mo after dialysis initiation, comorbidity, severity, determined for months 4 9. grouped on basis values, i.e. ,
