摘要: An increase in the incidence of cardiovascular disease has generally been observed postmenopausal women, but there have few studies association between menopausal state and atherosclerosis. In this study 294 premenopausal 319 women aged 45 to 55 were examined radiographically for calcified deposits abdominal aorta, which shown represent intimal Aortic atherosclerosis was present eight (3%) 38 (12%) women. After adjustments age other indicators risk with a natural menopause had 3.4 times greater than (95% confidence interval 1.2 9.7; p less 0.05); who bilateral oophorectomy 5.5 (1.9 15.8; 0.005). No excess among hysterectomy without removal both ovaries. These results suggest that when oestrogen production stops, either naturally or after surgery, is increased.
