摘要: Can we understand important social issues by studying individual personalities and decisions? Or are societies somehow more than the people in them? Sociologists have long believed that psychology can't explain what happens when work together complex modern societies. In contrast, most psychologists economists believe if an accurate theory of how individuals make choices act on them, can pretty much everything about life. Social Emergence takes a new approach to these longstanding questions. Sawyer argues dynamical systems, best way resolve debates is developing concept emergence, focusing multiple levels analysis - individuals, interactions, groups with dynamic focus group phenomena emerge from communication processes among members. This book makes unique contribution not only systems research but also theory.
