摘要: Autism is a disorder of neural development characterized by impairments in social cognition and communications. By applying multidimensional scaling to the analysis temporo-spatial gaze behaviors, we quantitatively demonstrated that normal control participants shared highly stereotypical patterns while viewing socially relevant video stimuli, whereas children adults with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) were variable their patterns. Many distant cortical areas has been implicated for such deficits ability. From these, hypothesized ASD derives from anomalous connections brain long-range underconnectivity. In support hypothesis, found weakness individuals naming familiar objects moved behind narrow slit, which was worsened absence local salient features. Temporal integration successive visual information during slit involves distributed network, including higher parietal association areas. Thus, underconnectivity autistic may result deficit temporal across these Understanding how inter-connections are impaired essential improving present methods treatment, as early intensive intervention using applied behavior analysis.
