摘要: High mountain lakes have been used in a number of recentstudies concerned with measuring and modelling the dynamicresponse remote ecosystems to environmental change (theAL:PE, MOLAR EMERGE projects). One importantfeatures that distinguishes these from lowland atsimilar latitudes is fact they may be isolated theatmosphere for six months or more during winter by thickice cover. Pollutants deposited are lockedup ice snow released only springthaw. These processes generate very strong seasonalvariation pollutant concentrations water column, andfluxes through column sediment record. Thisarticle presents mathematical model processes, anduses assess data on fluxes offallout radionuclides Redo Lake theSpanish Pyrenees. Using fallout 210Pb as tracer, themodel results show columnimmediately after melt enhanced factor up to70%. Fluxes watercolumn similar patternto empirical results, though theoretical values tendto little conservative. By comparing throughthe measured atmospheric flux it isestimated between 4–6% annual 210Pbonto catchment delivered lake, mean residence time 500–750 yr.
