摘要: Smell and taste impairments are recognized as common symptoms in COVID 19 patients even an asymptomatic phase. Indeed, depending on the country, up to 85-90% of cases anosmia dysgeusia reported. We will review briefly main mechanisms involved physiology olfaction focusing receptors transduction well neuroanatomical pathways. Then we examine current evidences, if still fragmented unsystematic, explaining disturbances mode action virus at level nasal oral cavities. focus its impact peripheral central nervous system. Finally, considering role smell numerous physiological functions, especially ingestive behavior, discuss consequences management regarding food intake.
